This comes from a review in the Telegraph of Barry Humphries’ latest memoirs:


When he returned to Australia to tour Dame Edna, a television interviewer asked him about his vocal technique: “I am sure, nay convinced, that the foreign word he sought to describe the required Edna sound was ‘falsetto’, but in Australia one foreign word is as good as another. ‘Barry’, he began, ‘Isn’t all that fellatio tiring on your vocal cords?'”
