A thought after a party

The world needs a support group for people like me, who have trouble with faces. Let’s call it “Prosopagnostics Anonymous”. But how will we recognise one another?

Maybe you should design a large badge for all members saying “Prosopagnostic – please tell me your name (even if we’ve met before)”. You never know, it might give rise to all sorts of interesting situations.

    Well, I suppose it beats (marginally) what is your starsign ? . . . . .

Thought of what you’ve said previously about not recognising faces when I saw a talk by Dr. Brad Duchaine, of UCL. He says “developmental prosopagnosia” (ie face recognition difficulties without brain injury) is suprisingly common (1%-2% incidence). He mentioned a US family who, like you suggested, all wear nametags a family reunions because they don’t recognise each other otherwise. More here: faceblind.org
