old fart baffled by new technology

When I lived in London, there were cassette stalls in the Portobello market which had bootlegs of all the interesting gigs in town. Where is the electronic equivalent for people who wanted to know what Cream sounded like last night?

  1. Dunno about London, but the community around http://etree.org/ is a good place to start.

yes, but they’re all legit 🙂 I know about the jam band downloading scene, and normally I stick to stuff that the bansds approve. But the Guardian review of the Cream show was so snotty and uninformative that I really wanted to know whether they had been any good. Copme to think of it, there must be some kind of fan board. Ah well, back to the grindstone.

I tried searching for cream and torrent. I so wish I hadn’t.

    aha! http://people.freenet.de/bootlegbrowser/ looks the business…

but only looks it — many of the links are dead, and those which aren’t don’t go to interesting places. The Internet music archive has some wonderful stuff, I know.
