Not what it used to be

A Miracle, is what Pat Robertson “told his audience”:http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/07/15/robertson.ap/index.html to pray for, after the Supreme Court legalised liberal sex: “One justice is 83-years-old, another has cancer and another has a heart condition. Would it not be possible for God to put it in the minds of these three judges that the time has come to retire?” It really worries me. If Pat Robertson thinks that getting an 83-year-old judge to retire demands a miracle, he can’t think God’s capable of very much.

Ah, coming from the tradition that blamed 9/11 on God’s wrath at lesbians not being stoned in the streets of Manhattan, I’m not sure it’s telling us anything we didn’t already know.

It feels like the sort of tom and jeremiad that gets written when the writer knows full well what’s going to happen but lacks the sources/balls/energy to turn it into a proper news story…
