An act of God

There was a sizable thunderstorm here on Sunday which took out both my router and my cable modem. The router has been replaced; the internet connection may be back on Wednesday or may not;. In the mean time, anyone who needs me urgently had best ring.

  1. Clearly it was the great circling teapot, channelling the solar wind in displeasure at your impertinence at comparing it to a deity…

hope you’re online soon. A life offline is a life unlived, surely 🙂

  2. Vicar of Ambridge says:

So why is it filed under ‘Housekeeping’? It should go under ‘God’ surely?

  3. Saltation says:

    the teapot strikes back.

NEXT time, obey [“The Good Book”:http://www.iso.org/iso/en/CatalogueDetailPage.CatalogueDetail?CSNUMBER=8250%5D, or else accept that your hideous fate was foretold in the leaves.

Thanks, Saltation: that was gorgeous, though I am nor sure I will spend 41 Euros on the ISO standard for teamaking.

I seem to be back: it turns out that the lightning struck two houses away, knocking out all their electrics. Presumably they are o the same cable. Here it took out te cable modem, te router plugged into that, and, as I later discovered, one of the newtwork cards as well. So now I have two new olastic boxes on my desk, which look like toads mating.
