But their sickness isn’t obvious.


It turns out that one of them became an inventor of shareware, then moved into psychedelics, and died, in Marin County of course, of pneumonia, aged 53, this week.

Of course, no one dies at home, alone, of unassisted penumonia these days without their being social causes. But nothing in the papers suggests what they were in this case. I know it can kill very suddenly. My friend Alvar died within 24 hours of diagnosis. But he died in hospital.
