The first I knew about it ws this morning, when there were ten bounce messages in my own incoming spam folder; apparently I have been selling life insurance all night to people at dial.pipex.com addresses who don&#8217;t exist.<\/p>\n\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nFortunately, the spammers used an address I am happy to give out because everything that comes into it that is non from a recognised mailing list gets stuffed unread into the spam folder, and automatically expired after a day at most.<\/p>\n\n<p>The mail header says in part :<br \/>\nReturn-Path: <alloneword@dial.pipex.com><br \/>\nReceived: (qmail 29110 invoked from network); 15 Jun 2002 06:16:29 -0000<br \/>\nReceived: from unknown (HELO ?domain) (202.107.227.100)<br \/>\nby depot-6.dial.pipex.com with <span class=\"caps\">SMTP<\/span>; 15 Jun 2002 06:16:29 -0000<br \/>\nFrom: alloneword@dial.pipex.com<\/p>\n\n<p>And when I check out 202.107.227.100, I find<\/p>\n\n<p>Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC2)<br \/>\nThese addresses have been further assigned to Asia-Pacific users.<br \/>\nContact info can be found in the <span class=\"caps\">APNIC <\/span>database,<br \/>\nat <span class=\"caps\">WHOIS.APNIC.NET <\/span>or http:\/\/www.apnic.net\/<br \/>\nPlease do not send spam complaints to <span class=\"caps\">APNIC.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p>Which suggests that plenty of people before me have had reason to spend spam complaints. <span class=\"caps\">GNAAAAAH.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p>The whois search runs out there, too. So I suppose I had just better sit bck and wait for my spam box to fill up. And, I guess, contact Pipex to explain my problems.
